A visitation will be held on March 12, 2016  at Englewood Christian Church from 10-12 with a funeral service at 12. 

In Remembrance

Mr. Daniel Lewis Young, son of Charlotte A. Young and Floyd L. Young Jr., was born November 14, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended IPS #43, Broad Ripple High School, Hope College in Holland, Michigan and The University of Indianapolis.

Daniel was baptized at an early age and attended First Baptist Church of Bridgeport in Indianapolis, Indiana for many years. He also was a longtime member of Englewood Christian Church.

Daniel was formally married to Katherine Traas. Together they had 3 sons: Daniel, David and Paul.

He was employed with Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, Eli Lilly, Englewood Christian Church and Indianapolis Public Schools.

Daniels hobbies were camping, reading, coaching, sports and spending time with the family and friends. He always brought Jell-O with fruit cocktail and whipped cream to family gatherings.

He was preceded in death by: his sister Donna Young Shelman Smith and his father, Floyd Lewis Young Jr.

Daniel departed this life on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the age of 62 years. He was surrounded by family and friends at his time of death. Daniel leaves to cherish his memory: 3 sons, Daniel, David and Paul; mother, Charlotte A. Young; brothers, Darryl, Clifton and Bradford; sisters, Darlene Thompson, Marsha Chandler, Emily Johnson and Melanie Logan; special friends, Nancy and Robert Plake and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
